Adeleke Commissions New Health Equipments, Says He’s Committed To Prioritizing Quality Healthcare

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, today, commissioned various health equipments at the office complex of the Osun Health Insurance Agency, says his administration is committed to prioritizing quality healthcare for the residents of the State.

Governor Adeleke noted that the health equipments procured by the State Government is to ensure that people have access to quality health care through the health insurance scheme.

The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, maintained that health is wealth, hence his administration will not pay leap service to the sector.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Igbalaye said the commissioning of the equipments is a proof of this administration’s commitment to improving the health status of Osun people, both young and old.

He said: “I am delighted to be here today as we celebrate the commissioning of these health equipments, a testament to our commitment to the healthcare of men, women and children.

“Over the last one year, without gainsaying, the Osun state health sector under the administration of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke has continued to experience a complete overhaul. Infact, the comprehensive facelift is totally unprecedented.”

Hon. Igbalaye noted that the Governor has brought improved healthcare to the doorsteps of Osun residents, especially in the rural area, for both old and young through several programmes, including free medical outreach, Imole clinics, and many others, with seasoned community health professionals.”

Speaking further, the former council boss lauded the Governor Adeleke’s initiative in the health sector, noting, “I must equally allude to the Governor’s resolve to revamp and revitalize all the 332 focal health centres across the state, a move to enhance quality, affordable and effective health care delivery to the grassroot.

“This comprehensive revitalization includes improving human resources and provisions of basic drugs in all the Primary Health care centres. This is indeed laudable.

“We will continue to ensure that Osun people have access to quality and affordable healthcare, irrespective of their socio-economic status”, Igbalaye stated.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Rasaq Akindele, commended Governor Adeleke for providing the needed leadership, saying this is unprecedented since the creation of the agency.

He noted that a drastic improvement in the numbers of enrollees from the informal sector, and the enrollment of pensioners who will not pay anything after getting the required treatments deserves commendation.

Dr. Akindele said the event is an initiative of the Osun Health Insurance Agency, organized to assist Health Care Providers to purchase medical machines and other important equipments and present it to them on credit, while payment back to the agency will be deducted from their monthly capitation in installment.

The programme is part of the plans of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Rasaq Akindele and the management of the Agency to ensure that Health Care Providers deliver qualitative care to the people of the State.

He maintained that the distribution of the health equipment signifies the commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery and a dedication to improving the overall well-being of our communities.

The beneficiaries include the general hospital, Ilesa, General Hospital, Ejigbo, State hospital, Iwo, among others.
