The Senator representing Osun East in the National Assembly, Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi, on Tuesday urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of unity, love and peace as they celebrate Christmas.
Fadahunsi made the call in Osogbo in a statement signed by his Special Adviser Media,Sam Segun-Progress.
The lawmaker, who urged Christians to pray for peace to reign in the country and emulate the virtues of Christ, adding that with peace, unity and love, Nigeria would achieve greatness.
“As we celebrate the birth of Christ, I want to call on Nigerians, particularly Christians and the people of Osun East , to embrace peace and show love to everyone irrespective of their religious or political lining.
“The reason for this season is nothing other than to show love to our neighbours and live in peace with all men. Nigerians must use the period of this celebration to pray for the country.
“They should also imbibe right virtues of humility and dedication to the common good of the country by living in harmony and showing love to all and sundry.
“They should also remember the poor and the vulnerable of the society while they celebrate. We should pursue common good for all and be our brother’s keeper,” Fadahunsi said.
Fadahunsi also urged Nigerians to remain resolute and committed to nation building and the growth of the nation.
