“Concerned PDP members” is a faceless group – Ifedayo PDP reacts 

The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ifedayo local government has been drawn to a victitious petition written by an unknown group called “Concerned PDP members” to tarnish the good image of the party in the local government.

The Elder’s caucus of the party in Ifedayo local govt wishes to state categorically that this group is not known and the signatory, Ayo Fadeyan is not our member

As the conscience of the party, we did not authorize any group to speak for the party regarding the traditional matters which does not fall within our jurisdiction as a political party.

It’s mainly the function of the kingmakers to select King after due consultation with the oracles. PDP is not among the kingmakers and the approving authority after the selection is the state government.

Unless we want to be economical with the truth, our amiable governor, Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke, putting the round peg in a round hole, has been so meticulous in handling traditional matters since his assumption of office. What the previous administration in the state could not achieve in terms of appointment of Kings, the current government is achieving without any uproar from any quarter.

This is not far fetched, as the government allows the kingmakers to perform their functions. What the state government does is to give approval and we know that when it’s time, that of Asaoni of Ora will not be an exemption.

We want to tell the general public that there is no group within the Ifedayo PDP that bears “Concerned PDP members” and want people to disregard their vague petition and story. It beats the imagination of every loyal and well meaning party member how a so called ” Concerned Party Members forum” would brazenly accuse a serving Commissioner, a man of honor and integrity, in the person of Barrister Dosu Babatunde of bribery, just because their selfish and destructive agenda cannot sail through. We sincerely tender our unreserved apology for this wicked blackmail as we remain committed to getting to the root of this matter. We shall not hesitate to expose and report any collaborator within, to the party Leadership for punitive measures.

In conclusion, it’s important that we admonish men of pen profession to avoid being used by some unscrupulous elements who are out there running after parochial gains. There are organs within the party available for journalists to contact for balanced reporting before making any publication that has to do with the party. We should at all times be wary of mischievous publications that stand to mislead the public.
