Culture – inspired Aesthetic on Oke fia flyover showcases Yoruba Cultural Heritage – Engr Ojebode

The Culture – inspired aesthetic on the Oke fia flyover in Osogbo, the capital city of Osun State is simply to showcase the rich Yoruba cultural heritage and symbols of major cities in the state.

Director of Highways, Osun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr Moruf Ojebode, made the clarification while speaking as guest on an OSBC programme, which promotes the activities of the present administration in Osun State, tagged “Imole Ayo”

The weekly Programme is put in place by the office of the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, to showcase the outstanding achievements of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

According to Engr Ojebode, symbols of Osogbo as the home of tie and dye, as well as Osun River, Ile Ife – the cradle of Yoruba race with Oranmiyan staff, Ilesa – Ogedengbe (warrior), Iwo – Odidere, and Ede – Ofa Ina (Sword) among others, are the artistic motifs defining the richness of Yoruba culture.

The DH noted that similar works of arts are also on the Olaiya Flyover constructed by the immediate past administration in Osun State a few years ago.

He explained that, the Oke fia flyover has been completed and will soon be commissioned for the use of the public, adding that other mega projects being executed in major cities across the state, by the Osun government through the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, are going on, unhindered

The director of Highways pointed out that, since assumption of office three years ago, Governor Ademola Adeleke has constructed two hundred and fifty kilometers of roads across the nooks and crannies of Osun State while no fewer than one hundred and sixty kilometers are ongoing in parts of the state.

Engr Ojebode emphasized that, in line with Governor Adeleke’s determination to transform Osun State, all the infrastructural projects are evenly distributed with a view to ensuring rapid development across the state

While calling on those who are yet to benefit from the infrastructural development of the present administration in the state to exercise patience, Engineer Ojebode reiterated that, no area will be left out

He urged the people to desist from dumping sand, refuse, oil or diesel on the road, saying these ugly practices are capable of shortening the lifespan of roads
