The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun will today lead several dignitaries to the Osogbo Tennis Club ladder ranking final competition.
The final match of an in-house ladder ranking competitions of the Osogbo Tennis Club(OTC), will be played tomorrow, Thursday, between Adekunle Uthman, the CEO of Armstrong Paints and Ezekiel Owoeye, the CEO of Ezekiel Global Ventures.
Uthman who is fondly called Armstrong, qualified for the final after a seemingly easy 8-4 win over Hafiz Dere, the CEO of Superb Ten Auto Body Works; thereby setting for an epic showdown with Owoeye who narrowly defeated Yinka Olorundare, the Manager of First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in an energy sapping encounter of 8-7.
The club’s captain, Mr Niyi Oguntunde, in a notice, said tomorrow’s final would close the curtains of the month-long in-house competition of the club used in determining the rankings of members. This, he said, was the standard the world over, where members are ranked to gauge to their standings in the game.
“The Deputy Governor of Osun State, Prince Kola Adewusi, is expected to lead other notable guests to the grand finale which will be played at the centre court of the club located at the Osun State Civil Service Club,GRA, Osogbo” he added
The captain of the club, while urging prompt attendance by members to make the event colourful, maintained that the match would start by 4.30pm
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Osogbo Tennis as a prestigious social recreational club, was established in 1991 and boast notable individuals such as members of House of Representatives, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, the immediate past Speaker, Rt. Hon.Timothy Owoeye, a former speaker who’s the current Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Rt. Hon. Adejare Bello and Legal Luminary, Dele Ibrionke, SAN.
Other include magistrates,captains of industries, bankers, politicians, and prominent individuals in the society who have proven their mettle in different endeavours.
