Governor Ademola Adeleke has received commendations for constituting the first ever governing board to regulate Traditional Complementary and Alternative Medicine TCAM, practise in Osun State
The Chairman, Governing Board of Osun State TCAM Chief Hakeem Abiodun – Oladeebo gave the commendation while featuring on Imole Ayo,a programme, which promotes activities of the present administration in the State on OSBC channels
Chief Abiodun – Oladeebo disclosed that the board is expected to among other functions,, transform the production and use of herbal medicine to make it acceptable to all and sundry
He added that TCAM governing board, is mandated to operate according to the rules and regulations guiding its establishment and will soon start clamping down on bad eggs masquerading as professionals
The TCAM board chairman said in accordance with its responsibility, the board will flush out those who engaged in sharp practices among alternative medicine practitioners and hand them over to law enforcement agencies for necessary actions.
He disclosed that a code of conduct handbook will be released this week for distribution to traditional and Alternative Medicine practitioners to regulate their operations in the state
According to him, Governor Adeleke has approved the establishment of an incubation centre comprising laboratories and factories for certified herbal medicine practitioners to test their materials and products for local consumption and exports to other countries, this he said will create jobs for the people
The TCAM Chairman recalled that the body of alternative medicine practitioners have existed for twenty nine years without a governing board to regulate its operations untill Governor Adeleke approved its establishment.
Chief Abiodun – Oladeebo urged Indigenes and residents of Osun State to sustain their supports for governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in its efforts to take the state of the living spring to the promised land.
