
Osun state Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has so far paid Twenty five billion naira to retired Civil servants since he came on board. This fund includes liabilities owed by the two previous administrations in the state
The Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Public Service Pension, Mr Adebayo Raji disclosed this when he featured as guest on Imole Ayo,a media programme which promotes the activities of the present administration on radio and television channels of Osun state broadcasting corporation
The programme is organized by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to sensitise the public on the outstanding achievements of the Adeleke administration in Osun state.
The Permanent Secretary reiterated Governor Adeleke’s commitment to offsetting all arrears of gratuities and pensions he inherited from the two ApC governments between 2010 and 2022.
Mr Raji said old Pensioners and workers who retired under the contributory Pension scheme are beneficiaries of the governor’s magnanimity
He disclosed that the money included part of the sixteen billion naira backlog liabilities inherited from the previous administration.
The Permanent Secretary pointed out that, monthly payment of pensions to retired public servants under the old pension scheme across the whole public service has been going on unhindered.
Noting that Governor Adeleke has been consistent with the payment of inherited Pensions debts since he assumed office in November, 2022, Mr Raji urged contributory Pensioners who are yet to receive their retirement benefits to exercise a little more patience with assurances that their entitlements will be cleared soon
