Gov Adeleke is poised to construct roads across local governments in Osun – PS Works

Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration is set to construct five flyovers to ease traffic jam on some busy roads in major cities across Osun state within the next one year

Permanent Secretary, ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello stated this while featuring on Imole Ayo, a sensitization programme which promotes the activities of the present administration in the State on OSBC Radio and Television channels

The weekly Yoruba simulcast programme is put in place by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to showcase the achievements of Senator Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun State

Engineer Bello who spoke through the director of highways in the ministry, Engineer Maruf Ojebode added that the flyover project will be done in phases as two flyovers would be constructed in Osogbo, in the first phase, while other towns including Ile Ife and ikirun will have theirs in the second phase.

Similarly, Old garage – Okefia – Lameco road in Osogbo, as well as Akoda – Cottage – Baptist High School and Baptist High School – Okegada in Ede are marked for dualization while Ereja square road/Okesa/Brewery to Ilesa/Akure expressway junction will be dualized

He explained that the flyover construction and road dualization projects are part of the One Hundred billion naira infrastructural plan unveiled recently by the Governor

According to him, the present administration in the state has completed over fifty kilometers of road across the three senatorial districts while about thirty five kilometers which are ongoing will soon be completed

The PS Works and Infrastructure, who emphasized that the projects are being executed through direct labour also said that, to ensure a quality job, all materials that are being used will first be tested by Material Testing Laboratory and certified okay for the job before they are moved to sites

Engineer Bello emphasized that, efforts are in top gear to construct no fewer than one point five kilometers of road in each local government area of Osun State with a view to ensuring even development of the nooks and crannies of the State

He enjoined the people of Osun State to exercise patience as the present administration will provide motorable and durable roads in both rural and urban areas of the state.
