
Governor Ademola Adeleke has been commended for giving priority to safety and welfare of Indigenes and residents of the state at all times
Special Assistant to the Governor on fire service, Mr Henry Oyebade gave the commendation while featuring on Imole Ayo,a programme which promotes the activities of government in Osun State on OSBC channels.
Mr Oyebade noted that as part of government’s efforts to control and reduce fire related risks and accidents, Governor Adeleke has procured fire apparatus for the state fire service
He disclosed that three brand new fire trucks will be commissioned this week and handed over to fire service personnel to ensure timely and effective response to fire emergencies
The governor’s aide said additional state of the art equipment being shipped into the country will soon arrive the state and be distributed to the fire service in each zone of the state to advance its capacity for fire fighting operations
He advised people to always exercise caution when handling candles, matches and lighters, most especially during this harmattan period while cooking should be done in a well ventilated apartment.
While emphasising that flammable materials should be kept away from heat sources and ignition points the special assistant to the Governor advised the people not to put gas cylinders in the kitchen, but outside and use hose pipes to pass gas to the cooker while regular maintenance of electrical wiring system at homes, offices and shops are ensured.
