Immanuel College Holds 63rd Graduation Ceremony In Grand Style In Ibadan

It was a jubilation galore today, 11th June, 2024, as the Immanuel College of Theology and Christian Education holds her 63rd graduation ceremony with the conferment of fellowship award on distinguished personalities in a grand style.

The event started with a procession, followed by hymn, and opening prayer was offered by the Almuni President, Rt. Revd J.M.B Ibikunle after which the graduation ceremony was declared open by the Chairman Governing Board, Rt. Revd Dr. J. Olu Akinola.

The venue of the ceremony was filled to the brim as people travelled from far and near to attend the event. Families and friends of the graduands were not left behind as many were filled with joy, thanks and praises, seeing their love ones graduating from the college.

Speaking, the Rector of the college, Ven. Dr. Isaac Oyeneye calleom the graduands to put into use what they’ve learnt during their years in the school, adding that they must not forget to give back to the school as a way of showing appreciation.

In his sermon, Rt. Revd Dr. Oladapo Babalola charged both the graduands and the undergraduates to be focused and be ready to face challenges that come with the new responsibility, stating that nobody should rely on any godfather either for posting or promotion.

He said, “Wherever you are posted to, be ready to serve the Lord. Go out and say the truth. When you don’t say the truth, the church in your hand won’t grow.

He admonished the graduands to be more prayerful and to re-dedicate their life to Christ. “Your prayer must not be too much or too little for you.”

Among those that were given fellowship award and decorated are, His Eminence, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba (JP), the current prelate, Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Grace, Most Revd Dr. Joseph O. Akinfenwa, the Rt. Revd Dr. Babatunde Abiodun Taiwo, the Rt. Revd Senasu Gabriel Okupevi,

Others are Sir Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, Sir Olu Okeowo, KJW, Sir Col. Bola Ogunsanwo, KJW, High Chief Abiodun Adefulire, Her Excellency, Princess (Mrs) Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, Sir Dr. Olufemi Olukayode Ogunlowo, KSC, Sir Chief Dr. Alexander Chika Okafor, OON, OFR, PA Moses Adediran Adegbite and Dame Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, PhD.

The graduands were however admitted into the Degrees of the Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Arts in Theology and award of certificates which was done by the Chairman, Governing Board. After which they were all inducted into the Almuni Association by the President, Rt. Revd J.M.B Ibikunle.

Various prizes of different categories were given to the outstanding graduands which was followed by the thanksgiving as the graduation ceremony was declared by the Chairman Governing Board.
