Imole free train service: We commend Governor Adeleke For His Magnanimity – Beneficiaries

Over 1,000 holidaymakers from Lagos to Osogbo, benefited in the “Imole free train service” provided by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

There have been commendations and prayers for the government of Senator Ademola Adeleke for providing the train for Osun indigenes in Lagos and adjoining states to celebrate Eid-il-fitr with their loved ones in the State.

The beneficiaries were so elated as the train service left Lagos Terminus in Iddo for the ‘Imole Free Train Ride’ to Osun on Thursday.

One of the beneficiaries, Azeez Taiwo who resides in Lagos applauded the initiative of the government for extending the hands of good governance even to those who are not currently in the state.

Mrs Lawal Khadijat from Ibokun in Osun State, but living in Lagos, said the free train service has afforded her the opportunity to visit her aged mother and relatives in the state in celebration of the Eid-il-Fitr. She said she felt more comfortable in the train service than the road network bearing in mind her trunk loads of gift items she’s taking home to share with her friends and family in her locality

Mrs Akintola Monisola, one of the beneficiaries who joined the trip from one of the substations in Ogun state, hailed Governor Ademola Adeleke for his effort so far in developing the state since his assumption to office.

Earlier in a statement by Mrs Kehinde Odediran, the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Empowerment, said this will be the second edition of the ‘Imole Free Train service’ since the assumption of Governor Ademola Adeleke in office, as there was this same gesture during the Easter celebration a fortnight ago.

She explained that the government provided the train service to lessen the financial burden of Osun indigenes in the area of transportation during festive periods.

She declared the return trip of the train service to Lagos will be on Monday, 24th April, 2023, by 10.am.

Ms Adeniran Rukiyat, Tijani Ademola, Ayinla Gbolagade, Miss Alabi Khadijat and several other travellers and beneficiaries of the “Imole Free Train Service” thank the Governor for the kind gesture extended.

Answering questions from journalists, Oluwaseyi Adeniyi, Media Aide to the Executive Governor, said the free train service has been helping holidaymakers who want to come home to celebrate with their loved ones. He said Mr governor has been so magnanimous in making sure this program continues.

He noted, “Recall, His Excellency made it known during his inaugural speech that any program or project that has positive impact in the life of the people would be sustained. As for the free train service, it has really helped Osun residents who reside outside the state, hence it will continue.

“You can see the faces of those who joined the free train service, they were so happy, praying for the Governor.”
