New Year Inter-Religious Prayers: Osun PDP Chairman Urges Members To Remain Committed

The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State chapter, Hon Sunday Bisi has offered appreciation to God for sustaining the party, as he urged members to remain committed to the party.

The Chairman offered the praise today during the Annual New Year Inter-Religious prayers held at the party secretariat, Biket area, Osogbo.

Hon Bisi said, “I am glad to welcome stakeholders and esteemed members of our party to this annual prayer session. Raising supplications to God Almighty has been the secret and weapon of our success as a party and we will not renege on the noble path.

“I especially welcome our leader, the governor of Osun State to this prayer session. There’s no gain saying that you are a man of praise and prayers, and we are taking after your style, making God Almighty our secret abode.

“We are gathered here today for simple reasons of raising our voice of praise to the Most High and to commit our journey of 2024 into His hands. We are confident He will not disappoint us.

“This time last year, we gathered here to ask God to strengthen our plans towards the 2023 general elections and God indeed strengthened us even beyond our calculations or strategies. We came out victors in the elections unscathed, winning 99.9% of the available positions.

“Today, I stand before congregation of our people to say thank you God. To the good people of Osun State who stood by us in the thick and thin, we thank you. E se adupe o.

“Let me say quickly that our great party under my watch will continue to pursue unity and quality membership drive. In doing this, we will not compromise discipline and ethics of the party. Every member is expected to adhere strictly to our rules and roles of engagement without unnecessary distractions.

“In line with our outlines in the first quarter of this new year, myself and colleagues at the state working committee, will soon embark on working tour of various local government chapters of the party. This i believe, will afford us ample opportunity of frank family interaction, thereby charting a stronger bond going forward.

“I charge chairmen of our party across all the local governments to devote more of your energy to bolster the fortune of the party at the grassroots. This is so because you lead the army of our people where it matters most. With your commitment to duty and unmitigated loyalty of our members, PDP cannot be defeated in Osun State again.

“While we do all these however, let us be alert to the mischief of the detractors who have been deployed to sway our focus and determination to better the lots of Osun State.

“Our leader, His Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke is already doing wonders and making our work as a party easier. He has been impacting critical sectors of development in the state without leaving anyone behind. He is a leader we can trust just as we trusted him as candidate of our party in 2022. We won’t hesitate to trust him again and I believe you all read my lips well enough.

In attendance were the Governor, Deputy Governor, Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, Chief Olu Alabi, Members of the National Assembly, Members of the Osun State House of Assembly, Members of the State Executive Council, Caretaker Chairmen, Board Chairmen, leaders and members of the party across the state.
