Special Adviser to Osun State Governor on Federal Affairs,Hajia Hauwa Ahmed has reaffirmed the administration’s of His Excellency,Sen.Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke resolve to ensure that any meaningful project that the commonwealth of the State have been invested by previous administrations are completed.
The Special Adviser who gave the assurance when she inspected the abandoned project of Osun House located at the Central Business Unit,Abuja.She was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Mr. Adelani Aderinola alongside with Alhaja F.F Kelani,the Director Liaison Office,Abuja and other staffs of the Ministry.
According to her, “this particular project is of extreme importance to the State,the State spends a lot of money renting apartments for offices yet where have a place meant to serve this purpose.Aside this,it will serve as Internal Generated Revenue for the State,she decried past administrations for abandoning such projects of immense benefits for over twelve years.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry,Mr.Adelani Aderinola stated that when the Osun House is completed,it will accommodate the Liaison Office instead of still paying huge amounts of money on rent.
“As we understand why projects get abandoned, we must also understand the pervasive lack of continuation in policies as occupiers of political offices change.Whether it is long term development plans or contracts for critical infrastructure, the repeated practice in Nigeria is that once new people are in office, policies or programs of the previous administration are abandoned. This unwillingness to ensure policy continuity is the root cause of nepotism, corruption and impunity” the Special Adviser stated.
She assured Osun citizen that the present government under His Excellency Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke administration determination to complete all projects inherited from the past administration.
