It is a general believe that democratic dispensation should be beneficial to the people because it ought to be a way of governing, which depends on the will of the people.
Unfortunately, twelve (12) years administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State could be described as a misrule that was fully packed with maladministration, illegality, marginalization and all sorts of abnormalities.
Despite the fact that the Re-Run Governorship election that brought former Governor Isiaka Oyetola into corridor of power through the backdoor was majorly conducted in some part of Orolu Local Government area; Ifon-Osun, yet the administration of Alhaji Isiaka Oyetola could not have a meaningful impact in the lives of Orolu people. Instead, his political hero worshipers have been praising him for doing nothing for Orolu people.
Therefore, the progressive members of public and entire people of Orolu Local Government at home and in the Diaspora are glad that the judiciary has finally set Osun State free from 12 years of political bondage.
Recounting the unfortunate experience of Orolu people in the last twelve years; it will be recalled that none of Orolu indigenes were appointed as part of Osun State Executive cabinet and no key political position was given to our people despite various protest by the Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union (IPU). The worst decision made during administration of APC was the Official Gazette that ceded part of Olufon’s ancestral land to Irepodun Local Government through political influence of his close associates for personal interest; this is what has been causing communal crisis among Ifon, Ilobu and Erin-Osun.
The recent abnormally was deliberate traverse decision of administration of former Governor Isiaka Oyetola to intervene in the issues affecting Kajola, Isangbe areas; where his Re-Run Governorship Election was conducted.
Having clarified that the APC led government has NEVER commissioned a single project throughout the twelve years administration; rather, they were merely insulting reality that their government delivered!
The final victory of Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Ademola as duly elected Executive Governor of Osun State is a blessing to Nigeria democratic process and hope for Orolu people and Osun State in general. It is our hope that the new administration will look into series of injustices against Orolu development and humanity as a whole. We also want to encourage the people’s Governor to sustain the tempo of his good and progressive starting with assurance that people of Orolu Local Government Ifon-Osun and entire Osun will reciprocate with the needed support.
