As a way of giving back to the society, some men of timber and calibre came together to birth a social club, named: Oroki Crystals Club, Osogbo. The club which came to being a year ago houses twenty-seven (27) Members.
The maiden physical meeting of the club was held on Saturday, 23rd December, 2023 in Osogbo, the state capital, as members were so happy to see one another, most especially those who traveled all the way from the UK and Canada for the meeting.
In his opening speech, the Acting President of the club, Engr. Muideen Bello welcomed all members to the maiden physical meeting as he commended their resilience and commitment towards the club.
He eulogised all members both home and abroad for making the day a reality despite the economic challenges bedevils the country at the moment as he prayed that God will continue to be with every one of them.
Part of what happened at the meeting was the reading and adoption of the constitution of the club, while those in diaspora joined the meeting virtually.
Speaking with this medium, the Acting President, Engr. Muideen Bello said the club came to being a year ago.
He said “The mission of the club is to gather those of us that grew up in Osogbo in the last forty years (40 years) together and see how to help our immediate environment, as most of us are doing fantastically well in our various fields and we would want to bring those experiences to our community by way of giving back to the society.”
“Also, as parts of our mission, we see to the welfare of our members. Any member of the club who is in need of either financial or moral support, we give without any hesitation.”
The Acting President said the club does not have any political affiliation, stating that they are for any government in power. “We are for any government in power, either PDP, APC, LP etc we roll with them.”
He however urged members of the club to show more commitments and love towards one another. He opined, “I want to urge my members to show more commitments and love as they’ve always displayed.”
