Contrary to a misinformation making the waves that the kingmakers at Koka Ijesha have died, and that the appointment of warrant chiefs will be required to select another for the town, kingmakers in the town have affirmed that they are alive.
The Oriisa of Koka, Chief Lasisi Samotu who led other kingmakers addressed our correspondent in Osogbo, the state capital.
Chief Samotu who spoke in Yoruba noted that the rumour is the handiwork of some unscrupulous elements in the community who are hell bent on writing a wrong story about the appointment of the monarch for the community.
He said, “It is sad that some people who are hell bent in writing a wrong story about our tradition, we the kingmakers will not allow it. They said we are dead, this is far from the truth. We are all here to address the press this morning that we are not dead. We are kingmakers for over 17 years.”
Other kingmakers include, Chief Olatunbosun Olasunkanmi – Odofin of Koka; Chief Agbelekale Bashiru – Aro of Koka; Chief Lasisi Adede – Osolo of Koka; Chief Samotu Raimi – Saloro of Koka and Chief Adebisi Saliu – Saaba of Koka .
