Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ,has felicitates Governor Ademola Adeleke on the 2nd Anniversary of his administration in office.
In a communique released after the monthly Congress of the union held at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo,the Congress described the achievements recorded in the last two years of the administration in the state as unparalleled.
The Congress presided over by the Chairman, Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu urged the Governor not to look back in his desires to move the state forward and bequeath a legacy that will be the pride of generations yet unborn.
The Congress equally commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for approving the much-awaited new minimum wage of #75,000 for public service workers in the state,describing it as the best Xmas/New Year gifts to workers in the state.
The Congress enjoined the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture of the government by ensuring that they improve on their productivity and serve the administration and the people of the state diligently.
The Congress also congratulates the new national leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ,led by Comrade Alhassan Yahaya and his team who were recently elected at the Triennial Delegates Conference of the NUJ held in Owerri, Imo State, admonishing the new leadership to follow the path of honour,rejig NUJ and that welfare of members nationwide is accorded priority.
It assured of total commitment and support of Osun State Council to the success of the new leadership in office.
While applauding the federal government on the resumption of operations at the 60,000 barrel per day capacity Port Harcourt refinery, the Congress called on President Bola Tinubu led administration to expedite actions on the rehabilitation of other refineries in the country to erase cases of importation of fuel from other countries.
They Congress did not forget to appeal to residents in ilobu and ifon-Osun to sheath their sword and allow peace and tranquility reign supreme in their communities and allow for peaceful co-existence in the area.
The monthly Congress of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Osun State Council which was the last for the year 2024 was widely attended by members of the council from various chapel.
