
Monday, November 6, 2023, will remain a monumental day in the life of Pensioners in Osun State as Governor Ademola Adeleke began the enrollment of 19,000 senior citizens into the Osun Health Insurance Scheme for free medical treatment.
Prior to the official flag-off of the landmark initiative and first of its kind in the history of the state, Governor Ademola Adeleke had directed Osun Health Insurance Agency to as matter of utmost attention and at no cost, enroll 19,000 Pensioners, to ensure their healthy living.
The Executive Secretary, Osun Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Razak Akindele, at different interactions with Journalists had emphasised the intention of Governor Ademola Adeleke to ensure the healthy living of all the citizens of the state, which he said gave birth to extension of Osun Health Insurance Agency’s coverage of informal sector.
In order to make the registration stress-free, the enrollment was carried out in all the nine (9) federal Constituencies, by selecting a central Local Government Secretariat in each federal constituency as rallying point for the Pensioners to meet for the enrollment process.
Pensioners in Osogbo and Olorunda Local Government Areas attested to the magnanimity of Governor Ademola Adeleke as they were chanting solidarity songs such as “Imole Pensioners Health, Imole Ilera Ofe fun Pensioners” among others.
Eulogizing Governor Ademola Adeleke, some of the pensioners said the exercise was timely as it would help them have access to free medical services at any hospital of their choice.
Pensioners in the state also during the exercise amplified their unwavering support and commitment towards the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke saying that Osun State Government has remained faithful and rewarding to the senior citizens in all areas.
The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Olorunda local government, Association stated this in Osogbo the State Capital while commending the enrollment of 19,000 Pensioners for free medicare services under Osun State Health Insurance Scheme.
The Chairperson of Pensioners in Olorunda Local Government, Alhaja Bolanle Ogundare said Gov Ademola Adeleke Free health service brings back the age long practice of free medical services for children and aged.
She commended the magnanimity of Governor Ademola Adeleke administration for providing them free healthcare intervention saying that Osun pensioners are solidly behind him.
