As part of measures to boost the revenue generation, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin met with consultants of the ministry.
The commissioner was accompanied by the the Special Adviser on Sanitation, Hon. Tunde Balogun; the Senior Special Assistant on Environment, Hon. Adekunle Adekola (Adola); the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Timothy Olawuni and other directors in the ministry.
Hon. Adejoorin urged the consultants to double-up their revenue drive, noting that the state government needs a lot of money to execute many projects in the state. He said “The current administration had a pact with the people of Osun, hence we cannot afford to disappoint them.”
He stated further, “All eyes are on this ministry because it is among the revenue-generating ministry, we must do everything within our powers to make sure we deliver.”
The Commissioner mentioned that the Task Force monitoring segment will be strengthened to apprehend any consultant or revenue collectors who want to circumvent the government of Osun State to be made to face the wrath of the law.
He, however, assured the consultants of his readiness to lend helping hand where necessary.
In their separate remarks, the Special Adviser and Senior Special Assistant, appealed to the consultants to do more in generating more revenue for the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olawuni said the ministry will not hesitate to terminate the appointment of any consultant who is not meeting up their target. He appealed to them to remain committed.
Responding, the consultants pledged to redouble their effort in making sure they meet up with the target.
