As the rehabilitation of roads as well as the construction of new ones continue across the State, the State government has assured that the rainy season won’t distrupt work.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, Engr. Basiru Bello stated this while featuring on a weekly Yoruba sensitization programme on OSBC Radio and Television channels tagged: “Imole Ayo”.

He said the Governor acknowledges the importance of good roads in the socio-economic development of the society, hence the Governor’s determination to improve infrastructures.
Responding to questions from listeners and viewers, the Permanent Secretary assured residents that road construction and rehabilition will continue under the present administration to ease vehicular movement and for residents to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He explained that the administration of Governor Adeleke is determined to put all intra-city roads in good shape, adding that the Governor has also approved the immediate rehabilitation of all inter-city roads across the State.
While assuring rural dwellers that their roads will also get government attention, Engr. Bello stated that government will fix all rural roads especially those leading to major markets for easy transportation of farm produce.
He however appealed to residents of the State to desist from the bad habit of dumping refuse into drainages and waterways whenever it rains as it causes serious hazard to the environment.
