State Assembly Election: You’ve shown me enormous privilege, Irekandu thanks voters

The lawmaker representing Obokun State constituency whites just re-electes for his second term in office, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi Irekandu has expressed his appreciation to the good people of his constituency for voting for him for second term.

Irekandu, while expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the voters in Obokun local government said they have shown him enormous privilege and honour through the ballot. He noted, “I want to thank everyone who participated in the electoral process.”

The lawmaker said, “The very first time I enjoyed your grace and privilege was in 2019 when you trooped out in large numbers to elect a young architect contesting in mainstream politics for the first time.

“You trusted my records as a former Students Union President of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), my developmental programmes in Obokun LG since I graduated from school in 2009 and accommodated my visions for the constituency as a young politician.

“We have made history again. Together, we rescued our constituency in 2019 and decided to go forward with it. Yesterday at the polls, you spoke very loud and I heard you rightly. You cleared all the wards in our constituency with a wide vote margin.

“With your votes, you have spoken massively and unprecedentedly in the history of assembly elections in our dear constituency.

“This victory is massive and a clear testament to our party’s acceptance in the state. On behalf of our great party, the people’s governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and other chieftains of the party, I say a big thank you all.

“This victory is no doubt an overwhelming call to higher service for the people who are the real owners of authority. I promise by God that we shall grow and move forward together in greatness. This victory is a great responsibility and a very huge privilege. I will return this great favour and privilege with unprecedented service to the people.

“I want to again exceptionally appreciate the support of our leader and irreplaceable governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the Adeleke dynasty. Thank you so much.

“I owe my leaders, Distinguished Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi (FADA), Rt Hon. Oluwole Oke (BOO), Hon. Diran Odeyemi, Hon. Mayowa Adejorin and a host of other great leaders for this victory.

“I also thank members of our party especially ardent supporters for doing so much. I thank members of the Irekandu group, Irekandu Ladies, my family, associates and constituents. From rallies to door-to-door campaigns, you circumnavigated the entire Obokun State Constituency and met with people every day solely for this victory we have achieved.

Hon Adeyemi Irekandu is among the few Osun State House of Assembly lawmakers who did exceptionally well in the area of bills presentation and giving back to the society in the 7th Assembly.
