Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon Sunday Bisi Yesterday led the state working committee and other dignitaries to formally welcome or former Apc stalwart, former governorship aspirant and one time chairman, Ifè East Local Government, Chief Gbenga Owolabi and several of his supporters to the PDP in Osun state.
The elated PDP Chairman who assured the new entrants of equal rights and privileges as stakeholders, also encouraged them work in unism with the party leadership channels in the local government, as led by the former National Secretary and BOT member, Professor Wale Oladipo.
Chief Gbenga Owolabi had earlier assured the party leadership of preparedness of his team of new entrants to quickly settle down and join forces with others to dislodge whatever remains of Apc in the state, right from the February 2025 local government election.
The defectors took turns to commend the PDP and especially, the administration of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for paying premium attention to the well-being of the populace, describing PDP as a great nest of development.
The elder sister to Governor Ademola Adeleke, Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke Sanni, who was also at the event, congratulated Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi and his team for their decision to team up with PDP administration at this time, which according to her, will continue to listen and act on the yearnings of the electorate in Osun State.
Oluomo Gbenga Owolabi was immediately admitted into the zonal apex caucus of the party in the zone by the caucus leader, Professor Wale Oladipo.
